Available today, extending our innovation in the digital experience monitoring (DEM) space, is the new User Experience Insight (UXI) Wi-Fi 6E Sensor, the first dedicated hardware sensor in the market that can monitor 6GHz Tri-Band 2.4/5/6 GHz. The new sensor comes in two variants: G6E and G6EC, the latter coming with a cellular connectivity option for back-haul and last gasp power that reports on the Wi-Fi even when the power goes out on site. HPE Aruba Networking UXI has always been at the forefront of providing advanced solutions to monitor end-user’s digital experiences, and now we are pushing that boundary further.

The UXI solution is comprised of dedicated hardware sensors, agents, and an AI-powered cloud hosted dashboard. The sensors and agents act like end-users on the network and run synthetic tests to capture the network and application performance from an end-user’s perspective. This performance analysis is displayed on a highly intuitive cloud-hosted dashboard.

UXI hardware sensors are powerful Linux machines that come with some of the best-in-class and industry-first features such as:

  • Power outage monitoring: An array of supercapacitors provides backup power for the sensor to notify you of the power issue, and
  • Backup mobile connection: A fully managed cellular connection provides connectivity to the sensor when it cannot connect to Wi-Fi, cannot authenticate, or when the Wi-Fi's backhaul is down, notifying you about network and application performance issues over a cellular connection.

The new UXI Wi-Fi 6E Sensor comes with an enhanced processor and inherits all the market leading characteristics of earlier sensors. Besides providing the same reliable and in-depth network and application monitoring, the new UXI Wi-Fi 6E Sensor offers features like off-band monitoring, client monitoring, and enhanced Wi-Fi environment analysis. You can now view the SNR and QBSS information (from the AP’s perspective), client count, airtime availability and channel utilization on the UXI dashboard, providing visibility into noise levels in the environment and the number of clients affected by ongoing issues.

The extra radio in the new sensor provides off-band monitoring of other BSSIDs in the SSID under test, extending the visibility past just a single BSSID to all local BSSIDs seen in the ESS. Our updated Wi-Fi environment view now lets you compare performance across these BSSIDs with respect to the new metrics of channel usage, client counts, retry rates, authentication timing, BSS coloring, counts of roams and traffic break downs (showing the percentage of management, control, and data frames), enabling a rich view of an issue blast radius across the entire physical space surrounding the sensor. The upcoming client environment view will use our rich monitor mode features to provide performance metrics of clients in the region around the sensor. Displaying the health of other clients by reporting their MCS throughput rates, retry rates, and RSSI will extend troubleshooting to other clients beyond the perspective of just the sensor itself.

The UXI sensor is easily onboarded using Wi-Fi Easy Connect (For HPE Aruba Networking Central customers), blends seamlessly into your network infrastructure, and runs approximately 30K tests per day to monitor your network and application, leaving little chance for any unknown issue or error.

UXI is built on the top of the digital experience monitoring (DEM) discipline, combining the fundamentals of network and application monitoring with ease-of-use, powered by AI. The cloud hosted dashboard offers a lot of differentiated features that makes UXI one of the most trusted products in the industry today. Some of these features include:

  • Automatic triage: whenever UXI captures an issue, it replicates all the steps on a wired and wireless network to find the root-cause of the issue
  • PCAP: you can download PCAP file with one click from the dashboard
  • Back-in-time: UXI dashboard stores 30 days data, helping you to validate any network changes or understand the trend
  • Data-push destination: You can export all the performance related data captured by UXI on your data platform for further analysis
  • Incident Detection: UXI club similar issues into incidents to reduce the alert fatigue; the list goes on

UXI is your trusted remote technician that continually monitors your network and application performance, and alerts IT teams when it finds an issue, along with detailed analysis of the issue for rapid troubleshooting. It solves the most pressing challenges faced by IT teams, helps them justify the cost of any network changes, keeps a tab on SLAs, troubleshoots issues remotely, reduces helpdesk calls, at the same time empower them to offer a seamless digital experience to end-users.
