Are you ready for AIOps and Automation?

By Trent Fierro, Blog Contributor

It’s a question that comes up a lot. One that often leads to Google and YouTube searches and more questions. The problem is that AI and ML touch so many things that customers walk away confused as much of the content doesn’t really pertain to operating a network.  A lot of what they find offers guidance on how to build solutions.

Luckily, IT leaders are reaching out to third parties for help, and these analysts are coming to the source (networking vendors) to get answers and reconfirm what they believe is important for IT teams to understand.  We recently had the pleasure of working with Zeus Kerravala from ZK Research on a short video where he speaks to Jose Tellado, our Chief of AI Strategy, on the importance of AIOps features in our industry.

They touch on why AI is so important today and how it solves old and new IT challenges related to the following:

  • Network complexity
  • What’s different about technology today that can help - better data, maturity, cloud based single point of visibility and control
  • The importance and role of varied and quality data pulled from your infrastructure
  • Why you want something with the ability to use network, security and application-level insights
  • And more…

At the end of the day, AI-powered tools have to deliver value to the IT staff that actually manages the network so the discussion shifts to the quality of Insights offered and new tools that we announced in July 2022 that focus on efficiency. In addition to Aruba’s Wi-Fi, switching, and WAN Insights, as well as AI Search already built into Aruba Central Cloud.

Here’s what’s new in the AIOps portfolio:

  • Client Insights to help see what’s connecting to your networks
  • A firmware recommender
  • AI-powered Search in Spanish
  • And an always-on feature that identifies potential infrastructure hardware and software issues

AI and Automation streamline everything from data collection to solving problems and is why they make up an important part of Aruba ESP, our Edge to Cloud network architecture. We also understand that AIOps is a game changer and that it’s going to be a journey for many of you, but widespread adoption is inevitable as AI is shifting from a curiosity to a must have.  If you’re looking at cloud-managed networking it can’t hurt to also look at AI content specific to our space.
