We are proud to announce that EdgeConnect SD-WAN has been recognized as a winner in multiple categories of CRN’s 2023 Products of the Year Awards, including:

  • Overall Category Winner for SD-WAN
  • SD-WAN Subcategory Winner: Technology, Revenue and Profit, Customer Need

The CRN Product of the Year Awards recognize leading IT products and services at the forefront of innovation that meet the ever-evolving demands of the IT channel and their customers. The 2023 finalists were meticulously selected by CRN’s editorial team across 33 distinct technology categories, then underwent rigorous assessment by solution providers with real-world experience with these products, who evaluated them on multiple areas such as technology, revenue and profit, and customer need.

We’re thrilled that solution providers voted HPE Aruba Networking as number one! This recognition represents the strong relationship we share with our partners, reflecting their trust and confidence in our products.

"With EdgeConnect SD-WAN being recognized as a winner in CRN’s 2023 Products of the Year Awards, it validates our commitment to deliver top-tier networking and security solutions to our customers. Through our partnership with HPE Aruba Networking, we empower our clients with seamless connectivity, enhanced performance, robust security, and faster deployment of SASE, " said Brian Ramsey, VP Sales - Americas at Xalient, an award-winning, IT consulting and managed services business, specializing in modern, software defined networking, security, and communications technologies.

With its ability to orchestrate and automate network and security services from the cloud, Central NetConductor was also recognized as an Overall Category Winner for Edge Computing/IoT and won two subcategories, including Technology and Revenue and Profit. These acknowledgements underscore the product’s ability to meet the dynamic demands of businesses seeking agility, scalability, enhanced network performance and security first.

EdgeConnect SD-WAN was also previously recognized as the winner in the CRN 2023 Annual Report Card (ARC) Awards for SD-WAN, with a full sweep of the category including Product innovation, Support, Partnership and Managed cloud services.

As a security-first networking company, HPE Aruba Networking is committed to delivering a common foundation for networking and security for shared universal visibility, global policy management, and end-to-end enforcement. To achieve this, not only is EdgeConnect SD-WAN tightly integrated with HPE Aruba Networking SSE to form a unified SASE solution, but HPE Aruba Networking also recently integrated Central NetConductor capabilities with EdgeConnect SD-WAN. This combined solution allows organizations to implement an enterprise-wide Zero Trust architecture, even in complex multi-vendor LAN environments, leveraging EVPN/VXLAN open standards.

EdgeConnect key use cases to tackle digital transformation

EdgeConnect SD-WAN enables organizations to seamlessly implement four key use cases to streamline digital transformation, improve security and achieve greater compliance.

Key use cases of EdgeConnect SD-WAN include:

  • Support cloud-first organizations and unified SASE: EdgeConnect SD-WAN intelligently steers SaaS traffic to the cloud and eliminates the need to backhaul traffic to the data center for security inspection, improving application performance. In addition, EdgeConnect SD-WAN helps simplify the adoption of SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) and accelerate its deployment through a tight integration with HPE Aruba Networking SSE (Security Service Edge). The cloud-delivered security solution provides advanced security services including ZTNA (Zero Trust Network Access), SWG (Secure Web Gateway) and CASB (Cloud Access Security Broker). EdgeConnect SD-WAN also integrates with multiple third-party SSE vendors such as Zscaler or Netskope for organizations with an existing security portfolio. Additionally, EdgeConnect SD-WAN supports multi-cloud networking and can be deployed to several cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud.
  • Improve application performance over broadband internet: EdgeConnect SD-WAN provides private line-like performance over the internet using advanced optimization techniques such as path conditioning, WAN optimization and AppExpress. AppExpress is a new feature that automatically selects the best path for each application over various internet providers, IaaS platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and SSE solutions by leveraging synthetic polling and real-time user traffic observations. The solution also prioritizes traffic based on business needs using business intent overlays. For example, the solution enables organizations to run high quality voice and video over broadband internet using real time business overlay.
  • Replace branch firewalls and routers: EdgeConnect SD-WAN provides a built-in next-generation firewall with advanced security features such as IDS/IPS, DDoS protection and role-based segmentation. This allows organizations to consolidate their equipment in branch offices by replacing legacy branch firewalls as well as routers, as the solution supports business-driven routing capabilities with full support of OSPF and BGP. Through Zero-Touch provisioning EdgeConnect SD-WAN is centrally orchestrated and managed. Configurations and policy updates are instantaneously pushed to branch locations eliminating the need for local IT expertise, streamlining IT operations.
  • Enforce Zero Trust and secure IoT devices: EdgeConnect SD-WAN implements Zero-Trust network segmentation based on role and identity with the integration with ClearPass Policy Manager. Additionally, with the integration of Central NetConductor capabilities, role-based segmentation can now be extended over multi-vendor customer sites using EVPN/VXLAN. Because IoT devices are built on a simple design, they are not able to run security agent. With role-based segmentation, EdgeConnect SD-WAN ensures that users and IoT devices can only reach network destinations consistent with their role while protecting organizations from external malicious activities stemming from IoT devices.
