The Airheads Conference is almost here and it's time get your thinking caps on. Okay, it is actually time for me to get my thinking cap on. I say that because, in my experience, the conference is packed with a ton of smart people and I want to sponge as much information and knowledge as I possibly can.
Given the title of my post, you might have figured out that one of my areas-of-focus will be on third-party vendor integration. Aruba has a lot of great solutions and features. While it is important to learn about these features, I think it is equally as important to remember that Aruba does not exist in a bubble. If we agree on that, then we probably also agree that it is important to learn what Aruba is doing to ensure that they play well with other technologies and solutions. Here are a few examples of what I will be looking at:
- Palo Alto Integration – I did a video demonstration of the Amigod-PAN integration about a year ago. I thought this was great a year ago, and I think it is great now. Sadly, I noticed that the plug-in is missing from the latest version of ClearPass Guest. Maybe it has just been moved? Given that there is a session on this very topic, I assume there is more news to come. I'm all ears.
- Lync Integration – Everywhere I go, people are using Lync. Admittedly, I haven't paid enough attention to this application. An issue I intend to resolve at the conference.
- MDM Integration – I've heard stirrings of integration with third-party MDM solutions for quite a while now. There have been little teasers like Airwave-Soti, and reference to AirWatch in the current version of CPPM. I'm hoping to learn more about this area of integration for sure. I am constantly being asked questions about MDM integration so I hope to return home with some new information.
I could go on but I think my point is clear: I want to know how I can integrate Aruba products with my existing technologies to make my life much easier, more secure, and more awesomer. That's right, more awesomer!
