VRD Program Updates

Hello all,

I wanted to let you know about some changes we've been making to the validated reference design (VRD) program.

The first noticeable change is that we've redesigned the website and started generating new formats. In addition to the PDFs we've done in the past we are also now producing HTML, ePub, and mobi (kindle) formats for all new books. We are still investigating print on demand options and will let you know as things progress. You can find the page at http://www.arubanetworks.com/vrd.

In addition to the new page we've got a number of new guides.

  • Bala Krishnamurthy has published a guide covering Aruba's spectrum module that is part of the RFProtect license. This guide explains how to deploy, operate, and interpret the spectrum analysis features of an Aruba WLAN.
  • Sathya Gopal has published the Aruba Virtual Intranet Access (VIA), to the technology design guide page. This application note is designed to help engineers understand and deploy the Aruba VIA mobile access solution. This application note explains in detail the various configurations required to deploy the VIA solution.
  • Finally I've published the new Indoor 802.11n Site Survey and Planning guide published. This guide covers the design and installation of an Aruba WLAN. It includes information on choosing the right AP, performing a virtual survey, and performing a physical survey. The guide also covers using the Aruba Instant AP for physical site surveys.

Going forward we are expanding the scope of the VRD program to move away from point products and will take on a solution approach. Rest assured that the configuration steps will still be available for each product as app notes, with the overall guides leading you through deploying a scalable WLAN.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to reach out to me,

Thanks,
