Rob Haviland is the director of the global campus technical marketing engineering organization for Aruba Networking. In this role, he connects a global team of technical subject-matter experts with Aruba’s technical customer base, as well as Aruba’s pre-sales solutions engineers. The Aruba Campus Technical Marketing Engineering team evangelizes technical solutions, creates technical content and empowers the worldwide pre-sales organization to more effectively position Aruba Campus solutions.

Haviland’s career started with eight years in the US Navy’s elite submarine force serving as an electronics technician specializing in navigation and electronic surveillance. Haviland earned his B.S. in Education, Training and Development while serving in the US Navy.

After the US Navy, he joined Atlantic Research Corporation where he designed electronic and fiber-optic systems for remote operating vehicles (ROVs). Haviland then joined Lockheed Missile and Space Company, where he started his experience with internetworking and telephony. At Anixter and 3Com, he continued into more advanced systems engineering roles. He then joined Cisco, where he served in a consulting engineer role in the wireless LAN discipline. During his time at Cisco, Haviland earned multiple Cisco and Microsoft certifications. In 2004, Haviland rejoined 3Com as a solutions architect specializing in VoIP and wireless technologies. In 2010, he joined HPE as a result of the 3Com acquisition.

Haviland has more than 20 years of experience in the networking and telecommunications industries and extensive experience in designing and implementing advanced technology solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
